A yellow grasshopper from my yard, with my attempt at isolating him. I did alright, so I’m releasing this as a resource to the world.

You can download the source image (JPEG, 573KB) or the edited version in loseless PNG format instead of the JPEG above (1.4MB, make sure to use the sRGB color space). Both images are released under the same license. For editing, I added contrast and removed the background using the eraser brush in Adobe Photoshop. The best way is to use the pen tool and layers, but I hate layers.

A leaf on a tree in my back yard, which raindrops stick to with ease. This composition was the best; the leaf looks flat, till you get to the top where it fades out like a horizon line. I like how the droplets are linked together with water resting on the veins of the leaf. It was still raining at the time; I was struggling, holding the umbrella while using my camera.
I burned in the areas that were too bright, and added contrast to achieve the dark mood. This was a fun edit, as I got it to look just as I wanted.

Shot this on Christmas day; the winters aren’t so brutal in Florida. This looks like a spring scene, so I named it such. Enjoy.
Basic contrast enhancements with curves and sharpening is all that this needed.

Lightning reborn. This is what I get for leaving the flash on. I’m proud of this for its uniqueness.
More contrast, darkening, and switching to black and white makes this awesome.

Droplets magnify the veins and texture of a brilliant green leaf. Took this after a storm; these are authentic raindrops. I cropped the image tightly, added lots of contrast, and removed some specks of dirt.
