Photo: Toad

A photogenic toad near our house… he did not hop away even after I took this picture. As you can see from the drops on the toad and blades of grass, it had just been raining.

Happy New Year everyone! 2011 is going to be a revolutionary year.

Not a Daisy

I have no idea what this flower is. I photographed it on one of my morning walks. It was by the road three feet into someone’s yard.

There’s no good way to search for the name of a flower with its picture. I tried searches on Google like “white flower pink fringe long petals florida” but I had no luck at all. You practically have to be a florist to identify flowers.

So I’m titling this “Not a Daisy.” I’m not going to bother asking random friends and family if they know the name of this flower.

Deadlands

The swamps of Ormond Beach! Took this on my 18th birthday out the car window. There is water and a lot of dead grass.

A mailbox someone ran over. Your dreams of regular mail delivery have now been dashed… the mailman won’t bother with this piece of junk. Buy a new mailbox!

The Long and Winding Road — a curvy road and fence in the sun

The road is long and winding… don’t you just want to jump over the fence and rest a minute in the grass? Or a day, or a week, or a year? That fence is there for a reason, No matter how long you stay, you know you eventually have to travel that road.

Editing on this involved burning the road and corners considerably, then adding contrast with the curves tool.
