I think you’re thinking of evolving Pikachu. You could do exactly what you described, but instead of teaching surf, use a thunderstone. You cannot teach Pikachu surf in red either, even if it’s the one from yellow. The only legit way to get him at that point was through Pokemon Stadium.

I am from the Netherlands. The big Pokemon hype is over now, but people still love them. It’s still on National TV and the Toy Stores still have small pokemon departments

I know, it will never end. Nintendo keeps making new games and adding new stories, attacks, etc. I’m sure the games and movies are way too complicated now, but I guess they entertain children.

Great picture. I know Pokemon was popular in the us for a while, but it was, and is still very popular in other countries. They have incorporated Pokemon into just about everything you can imagine.

I remember playing Pokemon Yellow and I never evolved Pikachu because then he’d stop following you around. Then in Pokemon Stadium 2 your Pokemon Yellow Pikachu has the Light Ball which makes Thunderbolt twice as powerful… fun fun fun.

Haha I used to be into pokemon and definitely get the joke! Raichu was a far more powerful beast than pikachu though…
