You make some good points. In some ways, I agree.

However,
1. How was Abraham Lincoln evil?
2. All it takes for evil to win is for good men to do nothing. Try to reason with an evil person, and they will ignore you, or just kill you. (depending on the situation)
3. The Earth is not "doing great," humans are far from "perfect," and worldwide climatic disasters can absolutely happen, and on an apocalyptic scale sometimes. They have in the past, and almost certainly will again. Human behavior plays a role in this. Denial of these facts will get us nowhere. Sticking your head in the sand may help your mood, but future generations will be the ones to suffer if the environment of Earth takes a nose dive.
4. Overpopulation will doom us all, if we let it. No one suggested murder to lower population. Just have fewer children. Which is better: a 500 million person world (brought about by lower birth rates over many years) full of undeveloped land, freedom, and fresh air, or a 20 (30? 40? 50?) billion person world that can barely sustain itself in squalor, tyrannical oppression, and misery? Regardless, nature will use its own methods of controlling population on us if we let overpopulation get too bad. Starvation, disease, lack of resources, and other disasters could all occur if we let our situation grow too desperate. Of course, in the meantime the world would have become a pathetic shadow of its former glory, full of collapsed ecosystems and overused land. World agriculture is already strained keeping up with demand. There is only so much land to go around. Most of the best land is already put under cultivation, and any agricultural expansion will necessarily involve the destruction of animal habitat. Basically, overpopulation will result in too many humans having not enough space or resources to go around. All of which could be avoided by lowering population.
5. The Borg were hideously evil.
6. The wildlife of Earth can be very fragile. Some are tough as nails. Others are not. Extinctions happen fairly often, especially due to the effects of human activity.

Overall, optimism is great. Choosing good over evil is great, and should be done. Choosing to take chances in life and strive for greatness and happiness is a good policy. Everyone should try to be a good person and make the world a better place.

Equally important, though, is realism. Not the kind that stifles dreams, rather the kind that provides the building blocks to make them actually come to pass. There are very real dangers out there that must be faced and overcome. Everything will not be "all right" unless we, as in all the people, choose to do what is necessary to protect our world and our future. Reality must be faced, and faced truthfully. Accept it, fight it, or change it. All possible choices. But look always for the truth in what you are facing, then decide what to do about it.

... Do you seriously think it is that easy? Being heartless you CANT feel.. you CANT relate to others..hell you cant give a damn.. its a stage where you just feel numb...replacing your "negative" friends with cheerful happy friends? hell you'll just end up punching them in the face.."heartless"..from that word you can tell it is people who have "lost" their ability to feel.. they feel numb.. hell i know cuz my ex was one of them.. they may show themselves as normal people laughing and joking.. but they just cant relate to others.. they cant feel sympathy..
you need to search more on this and adjust your essay
